Brad Thorpe – Isometrics and The Creation of Isophit

Podcast Episodes 04 and 05.

Brad Thorpe – A guy on a quest to end therapeutic intervention with isometrics.

If you aren’t familiar with the therapeutic benefits of isometrics — it’s a game-changer.

Case in point, organizations throughout the world aim to reduce pain and repetitive use injuries.  To achieve that goal, corporate wellness programs have to stop encouraging their workforce to perform exercises that require repetitive* motion at a joint.

“You can never be stable when you’re moving.” — Brad Thorpe

When you factor in what you want from a strength exercise, I think, Brad Thorpe has invented the best piece of exercise equipment that doesn’t involve motion at a joint.

Performing isometrics is an opportunity for you to isolate one position to increase strength, stability, and mobility of the whole.

It’s just a matter of time before people toss their foam rollers for isometrics.

First-principles thinking* starts with physics*.

What you want from a strength exercise is possible when force is applied to muscles in ways that allow for an isometric contraction.

In 2008, Brad came up with the idea to invent, patent, and commercialize the most versatile piece of exercise equipment that’s ever been geared towards isometrics and strength training.

Seven years later, the first version of the Isophit was available for purchase.
